t & Ys

by (hee, hee, hee)

You are taught to remember the t and not the man, Y.
Nice little Roman trick.
For if you remembered the man, Y,
who hung on the t,
Then you would understand.
He said be liken unto me,
which if I was a plumber and said be liken unto me,
the world would have all been plumbers— Ys.
Some greater, some lesser, but all liken unto me—
then hopefully surpassing me.
(After two thousand years I would hope so!)
But if you just remember the sink that I was fixing to save your house from flooding...
You will forever be stuck on a t,
instead of trying to finish, my unfinished job, Y.
And then the company who claims to be your boss can keep paying you salary— t,
instead of letting you branch out on your own,
to get paid, like $60.00 an hour, or more...
being liken unto me on your own...

- Y?
